Vladimir Tubić was born in Banja Luka, Bosnia & Herzegovina in 1992. Even as a young boy he showed great interest in music and got his first guitar when he was 12 years old. His talent skyrocketed very soon and different musical interests and exploration developed his musicality to a very mature musical expression and sound. As a young boy Vladimir was very fortunate to study with one of the most accomplished musicians in the local scene. He soon took on guitar lessons with the renowned guitarist Radomir Mihailovič Točak of Smak who greatly influenced his playing and musicality. Showing interest and flexibility across various music genres put him on the map as young jazz cat who kept winning awards and achievements as an extraordinary talent and he won his first guitar contest with only 16 years of age. Vladimir took on many music workshops, most notably the summer music workshops for jazz musicians at the prestigious Musician’s Institute in Los Angeles, California with professors and later mentors such as Miša Marjanov, Dragan Tabaković and Banja Kevrsan who proved to be indispensable help to Vladimir’s sound. Vladimir moved a lot in pursue of music, Belgrade, Subotica but eventually settled in Vienna to study jazz guitar in the class of Cristian Havel. Vladimir was involved in countless academic projects in Europe, studio sessions and live performances. By the age of 20 his major influences were Robin Ford, Garry Moore and Larry Carlton. Later on, Vladimir grew to be more influenced by the sound of George Benson, Bill Graham, Pat Martino and various instrumentalist such as John Coltrane and McCoy Tyner. Showing great maturity in sound Vladimir drew a lot of attention from the music community and generated significant interest in the online community as well for his video podcasts, online guitar lessons and creative approach to improvisation full of outline embellishments and a distinctive jazz funk bebop style.

Vladimir’s first studio release is a full blown instrumental album named ‘’Half Step Up’’ is inspired by the outline playing style which he became famous for. The album features nine original compositions and arrangements. It is a strong and sophisticated guitar oriented compilation based on fusion jazz and smooth jazz with a latin and funk style. It was produced by his professor and mentor Miša Marjanov and is the first official release of many more to come. Vladimir plans to perform his original music at various music festivals and in solo concerts across the world.
